He fully displays the erratic and psychotic nature of Wheatley, along with the humorous side that the character offers to perfection. In terms of Wheatley, Stephen Merchant is absolutely stunning - which fits, considering the role was written for him. The writing moves the story on perfectly without dragging it or working as unnessecary exposition like in most modern games whilst at the same time hugely enhancing the gameplay itself with its presence. It's charming, extremely clever, hysterically funny at times, and there is never a single line that doesn't fit the situation. Also, Chell is supposedly incredibly tenacious, while Ratman managed to live on water, milk, and beans for possibly years while avoiding GLaDOS.I've just played through Portal 2 again, and I was immediately struck by just how incredible the voice acting and writing is.
